From the 17th - 19th March 2017 local Stockbridge business Bakhtiyar will host their bi-annual exhibition of fine Persian carpets in Salisbury’s historic Medieval Hall in the Cathedral Close. With the lifting of sanction on Iran there will be an array of hand-knotted modern, traditional, new and antique carpets on display along with runners, kelims and hand-block printed Persian tablecloths/throws not previously seen before.
Take a step in to The historic Medieval Hall this March and be transported from the heart of Wiltshire into the bustling bazaar and plains of Persia, from delights of the Qashqai nomadic tribes near Persepolis to treasures from the historic bazaar of Isfahan for finer pieces, you will see wonders not seen before.
Find old and antique carpets bursting with a history waiting to be told, or new carpets waiting to have their history written with your family and its generations to come.
Bakhtiyar was founded in the UK by Masoud Mazaheri-Asadi the internationally renowned Persian carpet specialist, who will be at the exhibition personally showing visitors the wonders of the Middle East and talking about Persia and its illustrious history, culture & art. He will also be giving expert advice on cleaning, repairs and the restoration of carpets.
